Mr Kim Hakin has just returned from his third trip to Hue

Mr Kim Hakin has just returned from his third trip to Hue, the former “Imperial City” and capital of Vietnam, where he spent a week training local eye surgeons in modern eye care. As well as giving lectures, which were simultaneously translated into Vietnamese and broadcast through the conference hall, he also gave one-to-one surgical instruction on the latest techniques and instrumentation to the Vietnamese eye surgeons, who had travelled to Hue from all over Vietnam. This was just one of the many volunteer overseas trips he has made to the Third world in recent years that have included working on the Orbis plane, to teach medical staff and operate on patients in an attempt to improve their medical care.
